The Iron Age to Roman transition in Britain from the perspective of coin hoards

This AHRC funded Collaborative Doctoral Award (CDA) between the University of Leicester and the Ashmolean Museum Oxford will explore the changes in coin hoarding and the sacrificial economy between c. 60 BC and AD 60. The approach is landscaped-based but will include cultural, religious and political influences too. This PhD seeks to cross the divide between the Late Iron Age and the Roman period, periods which traditionally fall to separate specialists.

The project starts in October 2019 and continues for three years - sing up to Anni's blog for news and updates.
